First Impression:
Those of you who are regular readers of my reviews will know that I like the BDSM scene. I am not a player but several of my best friends here in Montreal are professional Dommes and subs. I like the BDSM look and have included it is several of my own videos. So BDSM Extreme is a site I should love. The first impression is a good one. The tour's imagery shouts of sex and bondage and the red and black color scheme works really well. I love the design but wait. WTF!! Where are those loud slurping blowjob sucking sounds coming from? I can't believe it. Some stupid webmaster has put a video on the front page of the tour that automatically opens and plays loudly. I can just imagine dad down in the recreation room getting his porn fix for the week while mom and the kids are up in the kitchen doing the dishes when up from the basement comes the distinctly obvious sounds of wet sex. Or maybe it's the middle of the night and you are surreptitiously watching porn while your significant other sleeps not too far away. Oops not asleep any more. After failing to figure out how to turn the sound off, I hit the mute button on my keyboard. A word to the wise, webmasters, never launch sound automatically on your site, particularly on a porn site. GRRRR... Now I am now far less enthusiastic about this site. Let's see what else is wrong with it. I click on the video of a girl with a chain across her face and a cock in her mouth. The video doesn't work. Is there a pattern developing here? I click on a link that says "why does everyone trust BDSM Extreme". I am curious. My experience of life has taught me to be extremely distrustful of anyone saying "trust me".
LOL. The reason we should trust them they tell us, is that they are a household name, CE. Ha! I have never heard of them or if I have I don't remember. Do these people understand the meaning of household name? General Motors is a household name. BMW is a household name. GE is a household name. CE is not.
Oh I see now what the problem may be. This site is "free", they say. I myself have always adhered to the adage "you get what you pay for". So now I am really curious to see what I am going to get for "free". First let me check out exactly what they mean by the word "free". It may be like the meaning of the word "sex" for Bill Clinton. I fill in their form and discover that CE stands for CyberErotica. "Please include CyberErotica - 10 Days Free Certificate at ($0.00), renews, unless cancelled, at $49.95/monthly until cancelled". They are betting many of us will forget to cancel and then whammo our credit cards are hit with a $50 charge and it goes on every month until we cancel. How often do you check the details of your credit card transactions? Let's go in and see how they propose to divert us.
Review:
I had pretty low expectations coming into this site but they have been exceeded. The home page starts out looking pretty impressive. There are dozens of covers of DVDS, some of them actually BDSM related. Click on one and you discover that it a plug-in from Adult Rental, a video-on-demand company that actually carries a number of my titles. It's a plug-in that you will be familiar with if you are a big porn viewer. Other sites carry it. If you have not seen it before you will find it diverting. They do not specialize in BDSM but they do have a few titles. I look around for other content. It is all plug-ins. I can't find the five bonus sites the tour says you get access to but I do find Hustlers Barely Legal plug-in and it has some nice videos I haven't seen since the last time I saw a Barely Legal plug-in. They are everywhere in sites without enough content of their own. Just like this site, accept BDSM Extreme has no, repeat, no content of its own. All the content here comes from plug-ins. And most of it has nothing to do with BDSM.
Summary:
"You always get what you pay for" is good advice and especially applicable to BDSM Extreme. This is a free site in the sense that when you join they don't bill your credit card immediately. But once you are past the 10 day grace period you are hit by a $50 charge that will recur monthly. There is no original content here. All the content comes from plug-ins, some good like Hustler's Barely Legal and Adult Rental; some not so good, like Webmaster's Paradise. Most of the content had nothing to do with BDSM. Go elsewhere. There are lots of BDSM sites with excellent exclusive content. Check out the Kink.com sites.
