First Impression:
The site being reviewed here today is Deputy Dick. The site's theme is reality hardcore. Park ranger Deputy Dick and his camera-toting rookie find women breaking park rules and arrest them, offering sex with Deputy Dick if they don't want the fines... an ecological twist on a classic porn theme. It'd make more sense if it were "Ranger Dick" than a sheriff's deputy - as if logic had much to do with porn. The site has a sense of humor about it all while staying on-theme - hardcore porn and some chuckles.
Review:
The home page layout is direct, one single column. First you have a bunch of banner ads, then some welcome text, then the main content, and underneath links to the bonus content - a lot of it. You can't really miss the site's episodes, though you might overlook the link to the second page at the bottom of the episodes if you aren't paying attention. The 6 ad banners have a lot of empty space around them, so they stand out but they also make it obvious what they are. There's also a link to adult toy store, that's another ad but it's hardly a surprise and the link doesn't even work from the main page.
The models range in the moderately-attractive category, some are more porn-esque than others, and the acting can get downright campy at times. The theme may be played for chuckles, but it does stick to its theme surprisingly well (even Sarah and the video game themed beginning), much of the sex is actually in the park settings which I wasn't expecting. Deputy Dick isn't as hung as the tour of the site suggests with its "monster park ranger cock" (whatever that means), but otherwise it stays true to what is promised. However, some of the vids spend a lot of time on oral leaving less time for the actual fucking.
There are 27 episodes, each episode has one video cut up into several clips. I wish I could tell you how often the site is updated, but there are no dates listed anywhere except the tour, and they appear to be out of order and nearly a year out of date. Each episode has about 25 minutes of video.
Although there are mpegs on the tour as well as WMV, inside the site videos are offered in WMV format only. The WMVs are at 200 to 218 kbps bitrate speed, displaying at 420x280. The videos are offered either as "downloadable" or "streaming", the streaming kicks ass because they start up very fast, have minimal buffering times, and you can move the slider in your Media Player to anywhere in the clip and it'll come right up without having to wait for the rest of the video to load, a great feature - other than that, the downloadable are the same as streaming. Unfortunately, 200 kbps is pretty meek so the video isn't too clear and some of the movement is choppy - with the effort putting together a high-concept site like this, it shouldn't suffer such shitty-looking vids. Videos are also offered in medium and low speed sizes, the medium quality is about on par with the high speed only physically smaller, but the low gets way too choppy.
The rookie holding the camera gets a surprising number of camera angles and edits in scenes, keeps focus on the models and action, gets in some close-ups, and keeps the camera moving around without inducing nausea. The lighting is pretty decent most of the time, the close-ups are all lit from the camera, even most of the outdoors scenes where lighting more unpredictable come out pretty good, though there are a few shots in the shade that of course aren't as well-lit. The sound is picked up from the camcorder so sometimes it's better than others, but the videos themselves have good volume to them.
Each episode has a photo gallery, the photos are just video captures, they're 600x400 and are about 40 to 100k apiece. And there's not many of them, only around 25 per episode. The video capture quality isn't great either.
There's a decent amount of bonus content here. First is access to 69 other sites in the network. Some have just photo galleries while others videos as well. Then there's the "bonus mpegs" galleries with over 100 mpeg videos of various content. Then there's "bonus video" which has access to tons of various video feeds. And finally the "bonus pic gallery" which has just over 200 high quality photo galleries. So members do get plenty of bonus porn.
This site's negatives include a lack of update date listings, episode photo galleries that are just vidcaps and not even many of those, a big chunk of ads at the beginning, a tour that has a feature the site doesn't offer (mpeg video), and most notably, the low quality of the videos. The "high speed" were an ok physical display size but were such a low bitrate that it undermined the video quality considerably.
Summary:
This is a humorous porn reality site that actually does spend much of its time in the woods. The layout is simple enough to navigate once you get past the ads. The models and action may be playing it funny and campy but it sticks to its theme like glue which is good, and there is plenty of sex. At 27 episodes around 25 minutes a piece, that's about 13 hours of videos which ain't too bad. The photo galleries aren't too good, but there is lots of bonus content. Deputy Dick is a lot of laughs and plenty of outdoor hardcore. I wish I could recommend it more strongly but it's not going to suit everybody, so it only gets a mild recommendation.
