First Impression:
The site under the microscope today is Gangbang Divas. The name has the key element; this is a gangbang site, no big surprise really. Three guys on top of one girl - this is not classy stuff, but I doubt there's ever been a "classy" gangbang anyway. What it is raw sex - and that's what we're here for.
Review:
The main member's page is a little confusing only because it has a lot of links to bonus content, everything in the navigation bar is to bonus content, while everything in the "member's menu" is either bonus content or ads. The site's actual main content is right on the main page under the various menus, the most-recent update and then all the rest under "other divas". The page is a little oblique but it's mainly just trying to get more content into your hands, though there are a few ads under the "recommended" links.
The models range in the somewhat-attractive category, some skankier than others, nearly all with a slim build, and most had tats or piercings. The theme is gangbangs, which it definitely lives up to, and the setting seems to be a generic San Fernando Valley house, the kind seen in a lot of porn. The setups are pretty stagy, the acting at the beginning of the vids is porn-quality laughable, some of the text suggests a reality theme but generally the site is more direct about it - girls doing nasty stuff with 3 guys at once.
There are 11 episodes currently on the site, and they don't list when they do updates so we're in the dark on that one, though "copyright 2004" at the bottom of the pages doesn't bode well.
Videos are in WMV format, offered in 2 sizes. The large WMVs are 320x240 running at 346 to 464 kbps bitrate - that is a physically small video window, but the bitrates are just enough to keep the image looking alright and playing smoothly, even when zoomed to fullscreen mode - not great, but okay. The small vids are a tiny 176x144 with a worthless 30 kbps bitrate, give or take a few kilobits, and on top of that they also play choppy as well - avoid these clips. The vids run about 40 minutes each and are cut up into 3 parts. Each part has multiple scenes which you can stream individually or save, and at the bottom of each section is a link to stream or save all the high-quality vids on that page in 1 file - it's nice to have a few different options. Streaming vids play on the page rather than spawning a separate media player. There are previous and next clip links under each video; these don't work right for the full section.
The quality of the videos is pretty decent, the camera work is hand-held yet it and lighting are both fairly strong. With gangbangs, there's a lot of people in a small area so it's hard to get the camera in for a lot of close-ups, but there are a few between the medium shots. Sound is alright, some of the dialog requires a little extra volume but the action is always audible.
Each episode has a gallery with about 60 to 80 photos. These aren't vidcaps, some of these shots aren't even in the videos; they're actual photos taken before and during the action (except for the "Frankie" episode which are vidcaps but are at least a decent size). The photos are 512x768 (or vice-versa if they're wide photos) from 20 to 80 kb, which means some photos look fairly good while others are too low-resolution and get chewed up.
Bonus content includes access 12 other sites in their network with exclusive content, the 19 "DVD quality videos" (which at that size and bitrate really aren't DVD quality), plus access to a few other gangbang sites right from the main page, a hardcore image collection with hundreds of galleries, an MPEG section with hundreds of videos, access to 74 picture feeds and 65 video feeds, 8 reality sites, 19 porn games, 28 e-zine sites, and 19 live-video chat sites. The bonus watchword here is variety.
Negatives for the site include a main page that's at first a bit too busy and confusing. Also, only 11 episodes really isn't that much, even though they are 40 minutes a piece. And no update dates always stinks. While it's nice to see some real photo galleries for the episodes, the quality of some sets is far beneath others. Finally, the videos could be physically larger - it's 2007 and folks have bigger monitors now.
Summary:
Getting around the member's area of Gangbang Divas may be a little confusing, but that's partly due to there being a lot of bonus content. While there are only 11 videos, at 40 minutes each that's over 7 hours of exclusive gangbang movies. The videos are physically small, but taking that into consideration they look alright. Each episode also has separate photos, and there's a lot of bonus content strewn about. It's not the greatest, but it does have everything claims, so I'll call this a measured recommendation.
