First Impression:
Today's review is Horny Black Mothers. This is a black MILF hardcore site. Their motto is "the older the berry, the sweeter the juice" which is a strange alteration of the phrase "the darker the berry...", mixing their sex metaphors, eh? This tour also has a trailer for each episode, a quick look but any preview in a storm, right? The site promises DVD-quality downloadable videos, regular updates, 35 bonus sites and 145 bonus feeds, and "tons of pics". Let's see how it really does.
Review:
The members area is organized but busy because all the main content links are on the homepage. It's a bit of a mess, going from main content to network content, back and forth again, and then ads, ads, ads. Navigation, such as it is, is found at the top and bottom of the pages, though here again there are a couple more ads. The site is personality-free, no descriptive text - not even the text from the tour. The ads aren't that in-your-face since they're at the bottom of the main page but there's a lot of 'em.
The models here vary, some are kinda attractive, some are kinda not. Most seem about the right age bracket, 30s to 40s and yes - they are all black. The models are all on the tour so you know what they look like. Theme is pretty standard MILF fare: younger guy comes across older broad and they fuck - who would have guessed? What, the acting's bad too? No way! But the sex is good and the videos run about 25 to 30 minutes each.
There are 18 videos on Horny Black Mothers. The episodes aren't dated, so we don't know when the most recent one was added, but it hasn't been updated in at least 5 days according to the network section, though there is a "next update" box which is dated 4 days from now. So that's at least 10 days apart, maybe more.
Videos are offered in WMV and MPEG formats. The MPEGs are 321x240, but none of the MPEG clips are quite full-length, they cut off a little early on each. The largest WMVs are 400x300 and about 1Mbps bitrate; there are smaller ones, the medium is the same size but around 700kbps, and the smallest is 320x240 and about 350kbps. Playback is smooth, though I ran into a little stuttering with the MPEGs since they don't buffer - your connection speed will be a determining factor - or just pause the vid until it loads a little more, then it'll play smooth.
Videos look a little okay but a little pixelated. The WMVs are so-so in quality, the image detail is ok, but on some it's digitized, and some everything's blocky around the edges which is no good. The vids can pull double-sized duty without looking too bad, but the digitization of the image gets worse. The camera is slightly fish-eyed (which I kinda hate), and its colors are a slightly muted and orange. Lighting is a bit on the poor site and the image ends up a little too dim, especially for darker-skinned subjects. Sound is set a little quiet, if you turn up though it does an acceptable job.
Each episode also has a photo gallery. Galleries have around 50 to 125 photos each, the photos being 667x1000 and about 200kb a piece for the tall ones; 750x500 and about 150kb for the wide ones. The pics look alright, a little amateurish but strong detail. The photos cover more than just what's in the videos too, posing beforehand usually.
Bonus content is access to the 35 other sites in the network of various hardcore categories. Several of the sites are also specifically black chicks. The sites are of similar quality to this one, some update, some don't. And they periodically add more sites to the network. The last 2 sites of theirs I reviewed had 25 and 32 bonus sites, respectively.
The first negative is a lack of update dates listed for this site, it's bad enough there's no descriptive text anywhere in the site, but we don't even know if the site has updated in the past month. The videos also just aren't DVD-quality, and some don't look great. It's also a shame that the MPEGs don't quite run the entire clip length. There's some bonus content mentioned on the tour that's altogether missing. And the members area has too many ads on it.
Summary:
Horny Black Mothers has a modest amount of content that may or may not update that often, and the models fit the bill for the most part being middle aged and ebony. The videos are a mixed bag, some look better than others, none look fantastic, but they do run a decent length. Each episode has separately-shot photos, and there's plenty of bonus sites. The members area itself is pretty low-rent and has too many ads. Bottom line, Horny Black Mothers is a mixed bag of a site with only so-so video quality, but there aren't many others of this niche so it might be worth checking out.
