First Impression:
The site reviewed today is "Now Hiring Sluts", a reality hardcore site. The hook is women thinking they're on real interviews for modeling jobs, having to trade sexual favors for the job, and then getting the door instead. Who knew getting a gig as a bikini model could be so tough?
Review:
Navigating inside the site is pretty simple since its primary content is the first thing you see in 1 single column. In fact, it's harder NOT to find the episodes. Beneath the episodes column are a few ads, then some links to the bonus material - the last links to bonus material is at the bottom of the page though, beneath even the support link. If there's one confusing element about this site, it'd be the video links - there's 2 sets of links next to each other, it's the same video on either side but the right side is for saving the videos to harddrive while the left is for streaming and they don't make this clear.
The models here range from average to moderately attractive, varying from slim to average builds, a few were small-chested or even saggy while others were stacked. A lot of the girls had tattoos somewhere, a few more than I was expecting for some reason. The idea is that these girls think they're applying for a modeling job, doing some "special favors" to get the job, only to discover after they've had their fun that the job is no longer available. All the action takes place in an office or home office. The acting runs the internet reality porn gauntlet (not-that-convincing to downright-bad), but I found it amusing that the first sample on the tour right now is particularly poorly acted. Also, you'll see a few of these girls on other sites in their network. I guess they are really easy to fool - yeah, that's it, suuure.
There are 28 self-hosted videos, and since there are no update dates listed I cannot tell you how often new ones are added. The videos are in WMV format, about 20, 30, even a few 40 minutes or so, cut up into 9 to 10 minute clips each. The files are offered in 3 sizes, the large videos being 420x280 size which is alright but not great, and unfortunately coming in at about 200 kbps bitrate which makes for a poor quality image. The mediums are 300x200 ranging from around 75 to 150 kbps bitrate which looks even worse than large, and the smalls are too distressing for further mention. As I mentioned before, there are 2 sets of links, the right side for saving and the left for streaming. The streaming has a great feature where you can move the slider on your media player to anywhere in the video and it'll jump right to that clip without having to load all the video in between, this also makes start-up time faster. The server isn't always instant but a 2-second buffer wait is the most I experienced on my mid-speed DSL, and it's a heck of a lot better than waiting for the file to fully load just to skip ahead a few minutes.
The movie quality is on the lower end of average for internet reality porn. The camera stays a little too close much of the time which is ok for close-ups but not for side-shots and such. The camera is hand-held and moves around a lot, and sometimes chooses questionable framing methods - it doesn't help either that the site's logo in the bottom right is a little larger than most, occasionally obscuring some of the shot when it matters. The lighting is decent, even in the darker shots you can still make out everything. Sound is ok, nothing great, I found I had to turn up a little but not cranked all the way, and some are louder than others.
Each episode has a gallery of photos, around 25 photos per gallery. The photos are just 600x400 video captures though. Some aren't even in order and they don't show all the action. The photos are about 30kb apiece, which is enough to say they're "alright" looking, maybe even "fairly clear" though it's hard to tell what's the fault of the pic and what's the fault of the source vid.
Bonus content includes access to 74 other sites in their network of varied themes and qualities. There's also the "bonus mpegs" galleries with over 100 mpeg videos of various content, "bonus video" which has access to tons of various video feeds (over 150). And finally the "bonus pic gallery" which has just over 200 high quality photo galleries, also of various content. I had trouble getting a few things to work, but there's so much here that you can't really go too wrong.
The negative aspects of the site start with the videos, which at 200 kbps bitrate just don't look all that good. The tour's sample video is physically smaller but nearly double the bitrate size so it looks better than the actual videos inside, which is somewhat misleading. The tour also has MPEG samples when the actual site has no MPEGs. The tour makes a suggestion that there are threesomes and orgies inside when there are none. Also, a lack of update dates is always a negative. There's also a few instances of 404 errors from incorrect code or missing files. Finally, why even bother having a photo gallery if it's just going have such a small number of vidcaps?
Summary:
Now Hiring Sluts has a variety of women trading sexual favors for jobs they're not really getting. It's a very easy site to get around, the videos are a fairly decent length and have the nifty seek-in-streaming feature, and there is a ton of bonus content. That said though, the site's lack of update dates and true photos, and low bitrate videos do hamper things. Bottom line, this review is a "mild recommend" at best.
